IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Beijing Normal University

    The IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Beijing Normal University (BNU-IMIBR) was established in 2011 with the support of the IDG and McGovern Foundation. The BNU-IMIBR is affiliated to the State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, a national key laboratory in China bridging neuroscience, psychology and education. The integrated basic and applied research at the BNU-IMIBR aims to understand the brain processes governing human intelligence and behavior, and to delineate the life-span development of brain and cognitive functions. The institute has a highly inter-disciplinary and collaborative team of scientists and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for dissecting basic brain functions using animal models and for mapping higher-order cognitive functions in humans.     We are seeking outstanding researchers whose interests focus on, but are not limited to, the following directions: 1) Neural mechanisms of basic brain functions (perception, motor control, decision making, learning and memory, brain plasticity); 2) Development of brain and cognitive functions in children and adolescents; 3) Neural and cognitive mechanisms of language and mathematics learning and related disorders; 4) Social and affective neuroscience.

    PIs are expected to lead innovative research in their fields. Applicants should have a doctoral degree and hold an outstanding track record in related fields.          
    The appointment for PI will be made at the professor or associate professor level, commensurate with the appointee’s research experience.       Applicants should have a doctoral degree with appropriate postdoctoral training in relevant fields and demonstrate potential of future growth.          
     For research associates, academic appointments will be made at the associate professor or assistant professor level, depending on appointee’s research experience.
