Human olfaction: From brain to behavior
报告摘要:Olfaction is the part of the central nervous system which allows organisms to gather information via molecules. A primal sense in most animals, it allows animals to locate food, find mate, and exchange social information. It is also a burgeoning area in psychology and neuroscience, and may yield important insight into predicting neurodegenerative disorders. In this talk, I will present work from my group in this area and discuss the implications for understanding not only the inner workings of olfaction but also its modulations of other senses.
报告人:Denise Chen, Ph.D.

报告人简介:Dr. Chen received her PhD from Rutgers University and performed postdoctoral training at the Monell Chemical Senses Center and the University of Chicago. She is currently on the faculty of the Neurology Department, Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston. A key focus of her work is to unravel the function and mechanism of olfaction in humans and to use this information to understand its role in health and disease.
